"Ode to My Father" Tops 6 Mln at Box Office

The domestic movie "Ode to My Father" topped six million moviegoers on the first day of the new year.
 
According to the Korean Film Council's combined box office tally, the film directed by Yoon Je-kyoon reached six million 90-thousand in ticket sales on January 1.
 
Just on Thursday alone, some 750-thousand people saw the movie depicting modern Korean history through the life of an ordinary man at 941 theaters nationwide.
 
The number of viewers is an all-time high for New Year’s Day and is far above the 670-thousand recorded by the Korean film "The Attorney" on January 1 last year.
