S. Korea Beats Saudi Arabia 2-0 in Tune-up Before Asian Cup

The South Korean national football team beat Saudi Arabia 2-0 on Sunday in its final tune-up match ahead of the AFC Asian Cup.
 
In the match held at Pirtek Stadium in Sydney, Team Korea led by manager Uli Stielike advanced with its first goal after Saudi Arabian defender Osama Hawsawi deflected a South Korean free kick into his own net in the 68th minute.
 
Rookie striker Lee Jeong-hyeop doubled South Korea’s lead before the final whistle blew, scoring his first international goal in his A-match debut.
 
The South Korean team will open its Asian Cup group competition with Oman on Saturday. South Korea is paired in Group A, which also includes host Australia and Kuwait.
