Political parties have urged the government to take adequate measures against anti-North Korea propaganda leaflets sent across the border, following a related court ruling issued Tuesday.
In a briefing in parliament Wednesday, ruling Saenuri Party spokesman
Kim Young-woo raised issue with activist groups sending leaflets across the border.
Calling for a government decision regarding the matter, he said while freedom of expression should be guaranteed, actions that threaten people's lives go beyond this freedom.
Deputy spokesman Huh Young-il of the main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy also said the court ruling is meaningful in that it laid a clear legal basis for the leaflet issue, which has been a stumbling block in improving inter-Korean ties.
A district court on Tuesday ruled that it's legal for the government to block the distribution of anti-North Korea leaflets when it puts the life of the people in danger.
