S. Korea Excluded from Formula One Races in 2015

South Korea will not host the Formula One Grand Prix for the second year in a row.

Formula One racing’s governing body, the FIA, unveiled the final version of this year’s schedule on Tuesday that excludes the race in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province. The South Korean race was included in the preliminary version disclosed in December.

Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone told reporters in December that he put Yeongam on the list for legal reasons, although the South Korean organizers did not want to host it.

Yeongam hosted the Korean Grand Prix from 2010, but the county skipped being a host last year, due to rising debt from hosting the race.
