S. Korea Beats Oman 1-0 at AFC Asian Cup

The South Korean men's football team beat Oman 1-0 on Saturday to open its AFC Asian Cup campaign in Australia.

Led by coach Uli Stielike, Team Korea won its first game in Group A with forward Cho Young-cheol scoring his first A-match goal in the dying moments of the first half.

During the match held on a rainy day at Canberra Stadium, the team's defender Kim Chang-soo was injured in the first half before midfielder Lee Chung-yong suffered another leg injury in the second half.

The South Korean National Team will play against Kuwait on Tuesday next week and against Australia on Saturday in the quest to win its first Asian Cup title since 1960.
