Hyundai Asan Opens 2nd Duty-Free Shop at Gaeseong Industrial Complex

Hyundai Asan said Wednesday it had opened a second duty-free shop within the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.
 
Kim Nam-shik, the chairman of the Gaeseong Industrial District Management Committee and around 30 other representatives of the industrial complex and Hyundai Asan attended an event at the site celebrating the opening of the South Korean company’s second duty-free shop.
 
The second duty-free shop at Gaeseong, which is 130 square meters, sells luxury goods, the latest electronic products and leading cosmetic brands manufactured in South Korea.
 
Hyundai Asan opened its first Gaeseong duty-free shop in 2009. The company, which also operates the now-stalled inter-Korean tourist program at Mount Geumgang opened a duty-free shop on the North Korean mountain in 1999.
