According to U.S.-based Voice of America (VOA), North Korea is suspected to have violated international sanctions imposed upon them by the United Nations 29 times in 2014.
 
VOA cited a report from the Security Council's North Korea Sanctions Committee that most of the violations were linked to North Korea's short-range ballistic missiles, and that six countries in February and March and seven countries in June through July had reported these suspicions to the committee.
 
The committee also said that a letter had been sent to them, containing intelligence that North Korea had been attempting to sell items in March that violated UN sanctions.
