The head of the National Health Institute says it is only a matter of time before Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome breaks out in South Korea. In a news conference Wednesday, Kim Moon-shik warned that the disease may soon find its way into the country, citing the three thousand travelers from China and Vietnam entering the country every day. However, Kim quickly added that thorough disease prevention systems are in place and that the possibilities are low for the virus to be carried by air. Northeast Asian countries are continuously strengthening health precautions toward travelers coming in from countries hit by the deadly flu-like illness.
