KCNA Spreading Malware Via its Web site

Radio Free Asia (RFA) said North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) has been spreading malware through its Web site.

RFA said Wednesday that Trend Micro, a U.S. computer security firm, discovered that one of the photos on the KCNA Web site was found to contain malware.

The report said the malware is spread to the computer of individuals who browse photos on the KCNA site.

Trend Micro revealed the finding on its blog and assessed that the malware primarily hit users in South Korea with a spike in infections last November.

RFA said the North infected the computers of visitors to the KCNA site with the malware and continuously spied on visitors.
