Seoul Offers US$10 Million in Humanitarian Aid for People of Iraq

The South Korean government said Thursday it would provide US$10 million dollars in humanitarian assistance to ease the suffering of the Iraqi people.

Officials said the government will offer the aid directly or through international aid organizations such as the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, the U.N. Children's Fund, the World Food Program or the World Health Organization.

In addition, some of the funds will be provided to local aid groups for their relief activities.
