Amid media reports that Washington was seeking dialogue with Pyongyang, North Korea declared it will not hold talks with the U.S.
Pyongyang's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday about a massive military drill which North Korean leader Kim Jong-un took part in.
While not specifying when the Air Force-Navy exercise was carried out, the state media said Kim personally ordered to launch the drill that focused on surprise air and naval attacks on a U.S. aircraft carrier.
In an apparent reference to U.S. President Barack Obama's recent remark that Pyongyang would collapse, Kim said he is no longer willing to sit down face to face with what he called rabid barking dogs wanting to topple the North Korean socialist system.
He was also cited as saying that his military is ready to react to any form of fight against the U.S., including a nuclear war.
KCNA said most of Kim's key commanders took part in the highly-publicized exercise. Following Obama's remarks last week, North Korea has been staging large scale military drills.
The young North Korean leader's refusal comes in the wake of media reports about Washington's chief nuclear negotiator's visit to Beijing, during which he expressed disappointment about not holding talks with the North.
