Choi Na-yeon Wins LPGA Season Opener

South Korean golfer Choi Na-yeon has won the 2015 LPGA Tour season opener.

Choi won the inaugural Coates Golf Championship on Saturday, shooting a four-under-68 in the final round at Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club in Florida.

With a four-round total of 16-under 272, Choi won the championship by one stroke, taking home 225-thousand U.S. dollars.

She secured her eighth LPGA victory and her first since November 12.

Lydia Ko, Jessica Korda and Jang Hana finished in a tie for second. Despite settling for second place, Ko, the 17-year-old South Korean-born New Zealander, became the youngest player ever to reach the top spot in the world rankings.
