S. Korea's Lee Seung-hoon Grabs Gold in Mass Start at ISU World Cup

South Korea’s Lee Seung-hoon grabbed the gold medal in the men mass start event at the International Skating Union (ISU) World Cup held in Norway on Sunday.
 
Lee placed first with a score of seven minutes and 50-point-52 seconds.
 
The mass start event was first introduced at the ISU World Cup and will be adopted as an official event in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Winter Games.
 
The event is similar to short track as competitors skate around a track 16 times without distinguishing lanes.
 
Lee, who is a leading long-distance speed skater, is showing strength in the mass start event.
