"Seoul Seeks Inter-Korean Dialogue Despite US-N. Korea Tension"

Seoul's Unification Ministry has announced that it will continue to pursue inter-Korean dialogue despite the rising tensions between North Korea and the U.S.

At a regular briefing Wednesday, ministry spokesman Lim Byeong-cheol discussed Seoul's plans for the South-North relations, separating them from the worsening standoff between Washington and Pyongyang

Asked if efforts for inter-Korean talks will continue despite the confrontation, he said Seoul will work to build inter-Korean trust through dialogue and cooperation apart from talks between the North and the U.S.

Lim elaborated that there is no change in Seoul's position as it seeks to advance cross-border relations and establish peace on the Korean Peninsula as well as a foundation for unification.
