A recent survey found the mostly commonly searched for location in Seoul was "Hongdae," referring to the area surrounding Hong-Ik University.
 
The data analysis arm of Cheil Worldwide, Cheil DnA Center, said Thursday that Hongdae ranked as the hottest place in Seoul with a search rate standing at 29-point-eight percent in the 258-thousand location searches in Seoul.
 
The agency analyzed the search terms of three-thousand-200 people in the second half of last year.
 
The second to fifth hottest places were Gangnam, Sinchon, Itaewon and Nonhyeon, respectively.
 
Garosu-gil, Samcheong-dong, Insa-dong, Bukchon and Sinsa-dong were also among the top ten searches.
 
Hongdae was picked as the hottest place among all age groups with Itaewon ranking second for those in their 20s and below. Many in their 30s preferred Buam-dong and Yeonam-dong, while those in their 40s and above favored Samcheong-dong and Insa-dong which have many Korean high-end traditional restaurants and tea houses.
