Seoul City to Hold 134 Festivals This Year

Seoul city will play host to 134 festivals this year.

Among them, 25 are large-scale festivals that represent each district's history, region and characteristics, including Noryangjin Fish Market's oceans festival, Gangdong district's prehistoric culture festival, Itaewon's global village festival and Yeouido's spring flower festival, which about seven million people attend each year.

The remaining 109 festivals are small-scale festivals with a diverse range of programs such as music festivals, singing contests, flea markets and university festivals.

Seoul city plans to spend two billion won on the festivals to help harmonize each district's residents and grow them into festivals representing their districts and Seoul as a whole.
