A North Korean family of three has defected to South Korea after crossing the East Sea by boat. A 46-year old man with his son and nephew had sailed for five days before arriving in Gangneung city early Sunday morning. The National Maritime Police will hand over the three North Koreans to security police after investigating the reason behind their defection.
