Kim Jong-un Seen Inspecting Pyongyang over Sky

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was seen inspecting construction of a housing complex for scientists in Pyongyang from his private jet over the North Korean capital.

The North’s official Korean Central TV reported Sunday that Kim conducted a “field guidance” of construction of the Mirae Scientists Streets after viewing the site from the sky on his plane.

Nam Sung-wook, a professor of North Korean studies at Korea University, said the scene draws a comparison between Kim and his late father Kim Jong-il, who had suffered from acrophobia. Nam said the junior Kim wants to appeal to the public by carving out an image of himself as a young and hard-working new leader.

Meanwhile, the North Korean public attended state-arranged rallies across the country on Sunday to swear allegiance to Kim Jong-un, a day before the anniversary of the birthday of Kim Jong-il.
