The scare over SARS, the deadly severe acute respiratory syndrome, is escalating as more people died from it over the weekend. In Hong Kong and China, five people died over the weekend, bringing the death toll in the former British colony to twenty-two and fifty three in China. More than 800 people were found to have the atypical illness in Hong Kong. Singapore reports some one-hundred cases of infection. The World Health Organization says at least 93 people have died from SARS and more than 2600 are suffering from it around the world.
