N. Korean Defector Shin Vows to Continue Human Rights Campaign

A North Korean defector who admitted to lying in his biography has vowed to continue his campaign against human rights abuses by North Korea.

In a posting on his Facebook page on Sunday, Shin Dong-hyuk said that what’s important is that he shows the North Korean regime that he will neither stop nor surrender.

In his 2012 book, “Escape from Camp 14,” Shin said that his mother and brother were killed in Camp 14, but he recently revised his exposition that the execution took place in Camp 18.

Amid rising controversy over the changed accounts, Shin posted a message online last month, hinting he might quit his human rights campaign.
