Major Palaces, Museums Open Free of Charge During Holidays

During the Lunar New Year holidays, major palaces, museums and art galleries will be open free of charge and various cultural events will take place.
 
Key palaces, including the Gyeongbokgung Palace, will be open free of charge on Thursday, or the Lunar New Year day. Tours around the Jongmyo Shrine, which normally require reservations, will be carried out without such requirements during the holidays.
 
The Seoul and Gwacheon branches of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art will be open free of charge from Wednesday to Sunday.
 
A wide array of performances and events in which participants can experience traditional Korean games will take place at the National Museum of Korea and the National Gugak Center among other museums across the nation during the holidays.
