Korean Antibiotic Obtains FDA Approval

A Korean Pharmaceutical firm, LG Life Sciences, has attained approval from the U.S. Federal Drug Administration for its new antibiotic for curing acute pneumonia. This is the first time a South Korean firm has won the approval of the U.S. drug regulator. LG Life Sciences, a unit of LG Group, said it jointly developed and completed clinical trials of Factive in 1999 with the British firm GlaxoSmithKline
