N. Korea Slams Pres. Park's Call for Change

North Korea has criticized South Korean President Park Geun-hye’s recent calls for changes from the North.

The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North’s ruling Workers’ Party said Thursday that Park’s thoughtless remarks are obstacles to inter-Korean relations and the source of tragedy.

The North slammed Park over her remarks in a Monday meeting with the Presidential Preparatory Committee for Unification. In the meeting, Park urged the North to join the path of reform and dialogue.

The North said that Park made an unacceptable political provocation on its late leader Kim Jong-il's birthday, also known as the Day of the Shining Star. It added that Park herself revealed that all the talks of reform and dialogue are actually a political provocation aimed at destroying the North’s ideology and system.
