Paternity Leave for Male Workers in Public Sector to Increase to 3 Years

Paternity leave for male workers in the public sector will increase up to three years.

The parliamentary committee on security and public administration on Tuesday held a legislation review session and passed a revision to that effect.

Currently, female civil servants can take maternity leave for up to three years, while male workers are granted a one-year paternity leave.

The committee also approved a revision that grants an additional three to five percentage points to those wounded for a righteous cause and spouses and children taking state-run exams to become civil servants.
