Researchers from Two Koreas to Meet Friday in Sweden

Officials from South and North Korea's state research institutes will meet Friday in Sweden.

The Institute for Security & Development Policy, a key Swedish research institute that deals with international affairs, plans to hold a meeting to discuss issues on the Korean peninsula in Stockholm for two days from Friday.

Researchers from two Koreas, the U.S. and China will attend the meeting.

Two South Korean officials from the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, including Jun Bong-Geun, Director-General of Department of National Security and Unification Studies are slated to join the meeting. Meanwhile an official from North Korea's disarmament peace research institute under the foreign ministry is likely to attend the meeting.

In the past, the North has also reportedly explained its position on nuclear issues by sending its research institute related diplomats or soldiers to the Swedish research institute.
