KCC, FCC to Strengthen Cooperation

The heads of the communication regulatory agencies of South Korea and the United States have agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations.

Choi Sung-joon, chairman of Korea Communications Commission (KCC), met with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress, a global trade show focused on Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Choi and Wheeler discussed cooperation on broadcasting communications, in particular fostering the big data industry.

The two also agreed to strengthen cooperation through personnel exchanges between the regulatory agencies.

Wheeler told Choi that the world is paying attention to South Korea’s high-speed Internet infrastructure, and that the United States is also learning from the country.
