N. Korea Submits Application to Take Part in Gwangju Universiade in S. Korea

North Korea has submitted its application to take part in the Summer Universiade in Gwangju in South Korea.

The Gwangju 2015 Universiade Organizing Committee (GUOC) said the North has submitted the official application through International University Sports Federation on March 3 under the name of Jeon Geuk-man, chairman of University Students` Sports Association in North Korea.

North Korea will send 108 athletes and senior officials for eight events including track and field, diving and gymnastics.

Pyongyang has been sending a team of about 45 people for each Summer Universiade for the past ten years.
