Survey: K-pop Ranks Most Representative Image of S. Korea

A survey has found that K-pop is the first image that foreigners have of South Korea when asked about the country.

The Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange conducted a survey on some 56-hundred people from 14 countries in November and found that 17 percent of the respondents think of K-pop when they think of South Korea.

About ten percent thought of Korean food, and another ten percent said advanced information and technology (IT).

In a similar survey held in February last year, the IT industry came in first.

As for the most popular Korean cultural products, 43 percent said Korean food, 36 percent answered music and 35 percent responded with fashion.
