A Gallup Korea survey finds that South Koreans' favorite singer is Cho Yong-pil and favorite TV actor is Kim Soo-hyun. Choi Min-sik was named the favorite big screen star.

Gallup Korea surveyed 17-hundred Koreans aged 13 and above nationwide last October on their favorite singers and actors.

Over seven percent chose Cho Yong-pil as their favorite singer, over four percent Kim Soo-hyun for TV actor and seven-and-a-half percent Choi Min-sik for big screen star.

Many of the high ranking singers that made the list, including Lee Sun-hee in second place, have had steady careers over the years.

The top ten TV actors including Choi Bul-ahm and Jo In-sung all had careers spanning at least ten years, with the exclusion of Kim Soo-hyun. Kim's number one ranking is believed to be owed to his appearance in the hit drama "My Love from the Star."

Choi Min-sik is best known for his leading role in the top box office movie in Korean cinema history, "Roaring Currents," in which he played the legendary admiral Yi Sun-sin.

In the poll, Koreans' favorite comedian was Yoo Jae-suk, selected by an overwhelming 23 percent of respondents.
