Korean Air to Sponsor Pyeongchang Olympics

The organizing committee for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics said Wednesday that it signed a sponsorship deal with Korean Air.

Under the deal, South Korea’s largest airliner will assist with air transportation of officials, athletes and goods leading up to and during the 2018 Olympics.

Chairwoman of the International Olympic Committee’s Coordination Commission Gunilla Lindberg and Cho Yang-ho, president of the organizing committee and CEO of Korean Air, oversaw the signing ceremony on Wednesday.

With the inclusion of Korean Air, five local companies are now official sponsors of the Pyeongchang Olympics. The organizing committee said it has so far raised 30 percent of its domestic sponsorship target.
