S. Korean Corporate Heads to Return After Gaeseong Wage Meeting

A group of 14 South Korean representatives of Gaeseong complex companies have met with North Korean authorities at the inter-Korean industrial complex.

Chairman Jeong Gi-seob of the Corporate Association of Gaeseong Industrial Complex and 13 other corporate leaders met with North Korean representatives, including Central Industrial Zone Development Guidance Bureau's Vice Chairman Park Chul-soo, at the Gaeseong Industrial Complex on Wednesday.

The South Korean business delegation attempted to deliver its written suggestions to North Korean officials, but the North refused to accept the document.

South Korean company heads are said to have requested that the North defer its demand to raise Gaeseong workers' wages, but it is unclear how the North responded.

The group was scheduled to return to South Korea around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, through the inter-Korean Transit Office.
