An up-and-coming talent in tennis, Chung Hyeon has earned a victory in a pro tour tournament, marking the first South Korean win in seven years.

In the first round of the annual Miami Masters held in Miami, Florida, the 18 year old beat 50th ranked player in the world Marcel Granollers of Spain 2 sets to 1 to advance to the second round.   

Chung is the first Korean to clinch a win in a senior-level professional tennis tournament since Lee Hyung-taik in 2008.

In the second round, Chung will face Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic who ranks ninth in the world.
