N. Korea Criticizes Park's Speech on Cheonan Commemoration

North Korea’s National Defense Commission has criticized President Park Geun-hye’s speech, delivered on the fifth anniversary of the sinking of the South Korean naval vessel Cheonan.

The North’s Korean Central News Agency quoted the commission as saying on Sunday that Park is using the Cheonan incident to instigate conflicts among Koreans.

The commission is reported to have said that it cannot expect any improvements in inter-Korean relations as long as Park and her followers, obsessed with confrontation, are in power.

The latest denunciation comes after Park made it clear that the Cheonan corvette was capsized by a North Korean torpedo and criticized the North’s provocation and nuclear development during her speech at a memorial ceremony on Thursday.
