Lawlessness Reigns amid Sporadic Resistance in Baghdad

Law and order has broken down in Baghdad, one day after U.S. troops rolled into the center of the capital city and seized control. The International Red Cross officials reported serious incidents of looting right across the city with two key Baghdad hospitals and many smaller ones being ransacked. Shortly after darkness fell, at least four U.S. marines were injured in an apparent suicide bomb attack on a military checkpoint in the area of Saddam City
