North Korea has launched an online shopping mall.

The North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Wednesday that the e-commerce site Okryu has been set up to make shopping more convenient for North Koreans and to raise the productivity of laborers.

The site, run by the people's service bureau, sells consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, items from well-known shops and food from restaurants.

The KCNA said shoppers may use their computers or smartphones to make purchases and pay with an electronic card.
