North Threatens to Punish Spies

North Korea said Thursday that it will find and mercilessly punish all those who engaged in spying and terrorism.

A spokesperson for the North’s Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued a statement criticizing Seoul for dispatching spies against the country. The spokesperson said the committee will unveil relevant evidence and documents that show the stark reality of a terrorist plot aimed at the North.

Last week, Pyongyang arrested two men, identified as Kim Kuk-gi and Choe Chun-gil, on charges of spying for the South's state intelligence agency.

Seoul has denied the charges and urged the North to immediately release the citizens and repatriate them to the South.
