The composer of a well-known children’s song that expresses hope for national unification died from a stroke on Sunday in Toronto, Canada. He was 89 years old.
 
Born in Seoul in 1926, Ahn Byong-won graduated from Seoul National University as a voice performance major and composed some 100 children’s songs, including “Our Wish.”
     
He moved to Toronto in 1974 but visited Seoul until recently to participate in musical activities.
    
He will be buried in Toronto on Thursday.
