The Organizing Committee for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics says it has formed an ‘overseas advisory group’ to prepare for the opening and closing ceremonies.
In a press conference at the Lotte Hotel in downtown Seoul, the committee said it formed the group of local and foreign experts who have previously participated in the Olympics and Paralympics as chief directors of opening and closing ceremonies.
The committee chairman Cho Yang-ho vowed to make every effort in conjunction with the group to hold a successful sporting event that highlights Korea and Pyeongchang.
On the advisory group are Constantin Unst, who directed the Sochi games last year, and Don Mischer who took the helm of the ceremonies at the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City. Sydney Kim, the Vice President of a globally recognized special video manufacturer Showscan Entertainment, is also among the experts.
