Two Korean Broadcasting System documentaries have won awards at this year’s New York Festivals Television & Film Awards held in Las Vegas.
 
The KBS documentary “The Road to School, Chaddar” won a gold award in the documentary and information category at the festival.
 
The documentary follows challenges facing Himalayan fathers who make a ten-day journey to take their children to school in a distant town by crossing a frozen river.
 
Another KBS documentary on North Korea and its leader Kim Jong-un grabbed a bronze award in the TV news report sector.
 
Television programs from some 50 countries around the world competed in the 2015 festival, which was founded in 1957.
