Incheon to Kick off World Book Capital 2015 Celebrations

The Incheon Metropolitan Government will kick off a year-long celebration as this year's World Book Capital with an opening ceremony Thursday.

The city said on Sunday that Yi Mun-yol and other well-known authors will hold lectures this week. Various events will take place through next April, including an exhibition on the history of Korea's archives in October and a children's book fair in November.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has been naming a World Book Capital every year since 2001. Incheon is the first city in Korea to have received the designation.
