KCC Chief Seeks to Expand South-North Exchanges in Broadcasting

The head of the Korea Communications Commission plans to hold an international conference in China as part of efforts to expand inter-Korean exchanges in broadcasting.

KCC Chairman Choi Sung-joon said Monday that he will invite officials from North Korea, China, Japan, Germany and Egypt to discuss the current conditions and the future of broadcasting and communication. The meeting will open in July in the city of Yanjin in Jilin Province.

Choi stressed that the role of broadcasting and communication is a key factor in preparing for unification, citing that in Germany, TV broadcasting played a significant role in bringing down the Berlin Wall.
