N. Korean Patrol Boat Briefly Crosses NLL

A North Korean patrol boat briefly crossed the de facto border in the Yellow Sea early Tuesday morning due to an engine malfunction.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said that a North Korean patrol boat crossed the Northern Limit Line by about 800 meters at around 2:40 early Tuesday morning, but returned to North Korean waters.

The JCS said the North informed it of the malfunction through an international maritime communications network and that it allowed the malfunctioning boat to be towed by another North Korean patrol.
