Hampyeong Butterfly Festival Opens May 1

The 17th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival will open on May 1 in Hampyeong, South Jeolla Province.

The ten-day festival will feature 26 programs on butterflies, flowers and insects, as well as 13 celebratory events and 42 cultural events and performances.

The festival will showcase some 150-thousand butterflies of 24 species, including the tiger swallowtail.
 
Visitors can release butterflies outdoors once a day on weekdays and twice on weekends and public holidays. Those interested may visit the festival’s Web site to make reservations.
