Lindsey Vonn Named Honorary Ambassador for Pyeongchang Games

The Pyeongchang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games has appointed a gold medal-winning U.S. alpine skier as an honorary ambassador.

Lindsey Vonn, the gold medalist in the women’s downhill competition at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, plans to launch her activities as honorary ambassador on May 16, exactly one-thousand days ahead of the Pyeongchang Olympics.

Vonn, who ranked number one in the world in women's alpine skiing between 2008 and 2013, will compete in the 2018 winter games.

She arrived in South Korea on Monday and on Tuesday inspected the site for the Jeongseon Alpine Center in Gangwon Province.
