The 618th anniversary of King Sejong the Great’s birth will be celebrated on Friday at his royal tomb in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province.
    
The celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the offering of incense and wine, and the reading of a ritual prayer by officials in traditional ceremonial garments.
 
The minister of culture, sports and tourism will then offer incense and flowers, followed by performances of traditional royal music and dance.
     
Various cultural events, such as a photo exhibition and a show of traditional tightrope walking, will also be held as part of the celebration.
     
The royal tombs of King Sejong and King Hyojong will be free for the public on Friday.
