N. Korea Conducts Live-Fire Drill For Second Day

North Korea conducted live-fire drills near its western maritime border with the South for the second day Thursday.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the North fired about 190 rounds for about two hours beginning at around 7:10 Thursday night near Yeonpyeong Island in waters north of the Northern Limit Line (NLL). None of the rounds, however, landed south of the NLL.

On Wednesday, the North fired about 130 rounds between nine and 10:25 p.m. in waters near South Korea's Baengnyeong Island.

South Korea is maintaining a military ready posture in preparation for additional firing as the North notified the South that it will continue its drills until midnight Friday.
