The flame for the 2015 Gwangju Universiade was lit at Sorbonne University in Paris on Monday.
 
The flame will arrive in Korea on May 24 after stopping in Taiwan, which will host the games in 2017.
 
Some 20-thousand athletes and officials from 170 countries are expected to participate in 21 events at the Gwangju Universiade, which will run between July 3 and 12.
