Three S. Koreans Test Positive to Coronavirus

With the scare over severe acute respiratory syndrome showing no signs of subsiding, three people in South Korea have tested positive for the coronavirus. The National Health Institute said a quarantine officer who had examined a woman suspected of having SARS last week was among the three infected. The institute was quick to add that it could not conclude that the three people have SARS, since the coronavirus test with diagnostic medicine recently imported from Germany alone is not enough to confirm infection. The institute says it will have to conduct additional tests to confirm whether the suspected cases are SARS since the atypical illness is found to be caused by a new strain of the coronavirus.
