Thousands Cancel S. Korea Trips due to MERS

The number of foreign tourists who have canceled visits to South Korea due to MERS has grown to around seven-thousand.

The Korea Tourism Organization said on Wednesday that surveys by its foreign branches found that some four-thousand-400 people in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and about 100 people in Japan and Southeast Asia have canceled trips as of Tuesday.

The cancellations include those that have occurred after the first MERS case was confirmed on May 20.
