The ruins of an ancient village from the period of the Three Kingdoms have been unearthed in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province.

The Hangang Institute of Cultural Heritage, a research institute on buried cultural property, said on Tuesday that during its excavation in Hanam-dong of Gwangsan district, it discovered some 490 relics from the period of the Three Kingdoms.

The institute said the relics, which include the remains of homes, kilns and tombs, are presumed to have been created between the fourth and the sixth centuries.
